Sammy Hagar is bringing more than a memorable night to his 40 Years of Rock tour stop on Tuesday, August 20 at the Budweiser Events Center. Hagar has committed to donate $2,500 to the Food Bank for Larimer County to help northern Coloradoans in need.
After partnering with food banks on previous tours and seeing the impact they have on those in need, Hagar decided to give to local food banks in each city in which he performs.
“Food banks in your local community are the biggest bang for your buck in my search for the simplest and most reliable way to help others,” Hagar said in a recent Billboard article. “You see the clientele lined up and they need it. You don’t see people taking advantage of something.”
The Food Bank for Larimer County’s mission is to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs. For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can serve four meals to those in need. The Food Bank is the only Feeding America clearinghouse for donated food in Larimer County, which is the nation’s largest food bank and food rescue network.
“Our vision is a hunger-free Larimer County and Sammy Hagar’s philanthropic support will go a long way in reaching those at risk of hunger in our community,” said Amy Pezzani, Executive Director, Food Bank for Larimer County. “The Food Bank for Larimer County can leverage this generous donation to provide enough food for 10,000 meals to the children, seniors and families that we serve – we are truly thankful for this gift and the impact it will have for those who need it most.”
Hagar performs at the Budweiser Events Center on Tuesday, August 20.
Tickets are on sale now for $45, $55 and $65 at the Budweiser Events Center Box Office, ComcastTIX.com or by phone at 877.544.TIXX (8499).
