NFL Responds To Raiders Cheerleader Suit

NFL Responds To Raiders Cheerleader Suit
Posted Wednesday, August 20th 2014 @ 7am

The National Football League believes it's protected from an Oakland Raiders cheerleader lawsuit because it's exempt from state labor laws.  The NFL is making its first formal response today to being sued by two Raiderettes who claim they should be paid at least minimum wage.  The NFL argues they are immune from all state labor laws because the California Supreme Court has already ruled players cannot bring antitrust claims against their teams.

For the first time in team history, the Raiders offered the Raiderettes a new contract where they would be paid $9 an hour, California's minimum wage, for all the hours they work.
